Lather, Rinse, Repeat | 24 Hour Race Wales 2023

We’re a group of nine students from United World College (UWC) Atlantic, Wales. Our names are Ace, Aidan, Alice, Amanda, Ayo, Hope, Coco, Nawale and Stephanie. (Find out more about us here!: instagram.com/lather.rinse.repeat.ac/) We hail from all over the world and we’ll be running the 24 Hour Race this 3rd and 4th of March.

The 24 Hour Race is a Running To Stop The Traffik (RTSTT) initiative that empowers high school students to lead the movement to end modern slavery.

There are more people in slavery today than any other time in history.

You can help us end it.

Human trafficking is present in every country, and global events such as the pandemic and economic uncertainty only serve to worsen matters. Victims of human trafficking are extremely vulnerable and find themselves in precarious situations which they can’t overcome easily.

And that’s exactly why we run. For 24 hours, we push ourselves, physically and mentally to help those in need. The fact that we are young students will not quieten our efforts to combat the scourge of modern-day slavery. Millions of vulnerable families and individuals live without access to freedom, safety, and other primary necessities. We run to bring awareness to this cause. We run to stop the traffik.

What are we fundraising for?

We’re raising funds to rebuild a child advocacy centre in Pattaya, Thailand. This is done in collaboration with the international anti-trafficking organisation A21.

By donating to our fundraiser, you are aiding A21 in creating a safe environment where child victims of trafficking and sexual exploitation are able to speak to forensically trained interviewers about the trauma they have experienced. You are also helping RTSTT’s work in empowering youths. RTSTT equips young people with the information, knowledge and training they need to champion this movement.
