Campaign Story
Yakha is turning 3 years on the 10th September 2017. She was diagnosed with cerebarl palsy when she was 1 year and 4 months and has since attended speach, occupational and physiotherapy at the New Hope School in Pretoria. Her speech therapist was worried about her slow development in speech and language, at which she recommended that we have an ABR hearing test. This was done on 26th July, she was diagnosed with profound hearing loss, of which we as Yakha's parents were advised that she needs a hearing aid ASAP and needs a cochlear implant. It was so shocking to find out that our daughter had never heard sound in her life. We will appreciate any amount of donation. The operation costs about R300 000 and can be done in a few months from now.
