After 8 years in London I'm taking some time off from work this summer to travel around Asia - the last part of my trip will be dedicated to volunteering and I've chosen Nepal to do so.

I've always been fascinated by Nepal but I'm more interested in experiencing the culture and its people rather than just visiting the country, so I thought the best thing to do would be to live like a local and at the same time try and give something back.

I've been researching volunteering programmes and found one that I feel very close to me: Women's Education project organised by IVHQ.

As a volunteer I will be providing assistance at a local education center that offers lessons to Nepalese women who missed out on a decent education when they were younger.

The aim of the project is to provide women aged between 16-55 with a Grade 10 equivalent education. My tasks will include helping women to learn the national level curriculum, additionally, there is scope to help by teaching how to use cell phones, email, YouTube and other technologies.

Any support towards this project will go to IVHQ and most importantly to the local community chosen for the programme.

Thank you all

Namaste!
