Campaign Story
I was recently hosted by a lovely family in Kenyan rural area. It really hit me that water is important in our daily lives. But in some rural areas in Kenya it can be very scarce which forces women to walk for long distances to the rivers to fetch water with jerrycans. Most families cannot afford to hire borehole drilling companies as they can be very expensive. I found out that in one of the rural villages in Nyandarua County a group of young men have come together to offer the borehole digging services. They use basic equipment and have no protective gear and breathing equipment. They drop twigs into the hole as they go deeper which help in the circulation of oxygen. This is a job they have to love but the dangers involved are alarming.
In an effort to support their work myself and a group of friends have decided to purchase breathing equipment for this group in an effort to support them.
We will be very grateful for your assitance as I believe the group in future can become an established borehole drilling company.
