Hi, I'm a blind guy who wants to travel around with my guidedog. Aside from the air tickets, I have to pay for the quarantine charges, vet's certificate, and miscellanious charges, entry in and out of the country. You would think that, an assistance dog will have some exception as their job or their work is to give certain level of independant for a visually impaired users. The sad thing is, it makes traveling a costly event just to travel with the best companion a blind guy can ask.

With certain exception in society, you would think that traveling for people who are sighted (Without visually impairment) are just plain easy, as you just need to get travel documents, tickets and luggage, off you go after. For people who are blind who just gain independence with a GuideDog, you would think is the same. I am not asking for sympathy nor a lot of us will want, we just want to be what we are, be ourselves and touch and feel places with other senses and enjoy life as it is.

As a blind person, you don't get to enjoy the beauty of God's creation like seeing Mountain View or even as simple as night scenery of the lights of the building. We can feel the atmosphere of the high altitude and surrounding, we can feel and count as simple as steps around us. As simple as it is, I can feel the people around me and communicate with them. Too many blind people after losing their sight, they choose to be homebound as they are not comfortable or confident to move on their own. With the confidence and mobility aid, you can achieve more than the four walls of your home and life.

A guidedog may bring me around obstacles, but together with Eve, we have created a bond that we run together every morning. It's a relationship that we want to do more than what the environment allows us. The world is big, we don't want to be restricted to what society and what our country allows to do.

Please help me and Eve to achieve what we can excel. I am sure we can do more than just traveling around in Singapore. We want to show the world, we not only can travel around Singapore independently , we want to advocate that, visual impairment is not the end of the world, but it's a start of another path of traveling, just differently.

You will make a huge difference if you partner the journey with us. To create awareness what a blind guy can do with a GuideDog.

If we can travel on our own, so can you.

Support us!

By the way, my guidedog Eve is from Osaka Japan.

  • Hi Thomas, you can do this! Maybe one day, you can bring Eve to Osaka to visit her foster parents when she was a pup.
