Haiti faces many challenges, but is filled with vibrant, hardworking pople and also many rich natural resources such as the moringa and breadfruit trees. These crops are easy to grow and provide delicious nutrition to help combat hunger and nutrient deficiencies. Helping people tap into the value of these trees could boost food security, health, and generate income for Haitian farmers. Striking evidence from other countries shows the benefits of cultivating, consuming, and commercializing these nutritious foods.
We are planning an interactive train-the-trainer networking symposium in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to take place in August, 2016. The goal is to shine the spotlight on these crops and to spread more understanding about their potential while concurrently strengthening the network of individuals and groups working towards this purpose. A train-the-trainer model will be employed for continued spreading of knowledge and enthusiasm!
