Campaign Story
The Kegalle district in Sri Lanka was hit by heavy rain earlier this week. Due to the flooding and subsequent landslides, 64 people have tragically lost their lives. Many houses have been washed away and villages now face a shortage of water and food supplies.
Many people have been in touch with our UK office asking how they can help. We have decided to create this page as a means of raising funds to help the people of Sri Lanka. Any money raised will be used by our PMGY Sri Lanka team to purchase food and water for people effected by the floods. Our team and international participants will visit the region on Thursday 26th May to deliver these supplies.
For those of you joining us in Sri Lanka this summer there is nothing to worry about. Our main setup is in Ambalangoda which is around 3 hours from the Kegalle district. There has been heavy rain in southern India and Sri Lanka over the last couple of weeks and it appears to be an isolated incident. We do not envisage it having an impact on our programmes and we will of course keep monitoring the situation.
Thank you for your support and please get in touch with our UK office if you have any queries.
