Maureen Mfaxa has had some experience as a home based carer for the elderly in the past. She has a huge heart and deep kindness and is someone who is responding to a calling to care work. St. John's Ambulance provides an excellent training in home care and first aid which is the basic requirement for a home based carer. Maureen hopes to volunteer within her local community of Masiphumelele to gain the experience that she needs to be a fully fledged carer. To do this she needs assistance with the course fees as well as basic remuneration for her time as a volunteer. Ultimately she dreams of going to live in her birth village in rural Eastern Cape and meet a crying need for this work.
