Campaign Story
On Saturday, sweet Manny started to seem lethargic. After 2 days of off behaviour his parents took him to the vet. Sadly the vet informed them that Manny's liver is failing. He needs medical treatment to help save his life.
The Salmon family loves this dog like a 2nd child. He is their whole world and he is just 2 years old. They are desperate to save him and will do anything to do so but of course this will come at a price. They are estimating the bills will amount to nearly $3000 as well as days of lost income as they need to be home to care for him.
This family has been through a lot this year - from a job calling 5 hours from home, paying for secondary housing, 10 hours of driving each week back and forth with an infant, as well as the difficult choice to leave that job to keep their family together once Lindsay returned to work in September.
We ask that you spare even a few dollars to help this family with their efforts to save their sweet boy.
We will post updates as new information becomes available.
Thank you from the bottom of all of our hearts.

UPDATE:
Sept. 22
"They’re asking for one more day tomorrow or hospitalization to push more fluids and have eyes on him all day. He’s gained weight since being there and is eating and drinking well for them. They said things are looking up but they can’t give us a definitive answer as to whether or not he’ll make it through this but they’re very hopeful. Still waiting on results from the ultrasound and lepto test and we should hear about those tomorrow evening. Even if he does come home Friday, he’ll need to be on medication for about a month to fully fight this."
Manny is back at the vet for another full day of treatment. The Salmon's are hoping to have their boy home for the weekend. Thank you to everyone who has donated so far!

UPDATE:
Sept 23
"We picked him up at 530 and had a meeting with dr Carter before we left. Mann did very well today with eating, drinking and being energetic. He is not going to be hospitalized tomorrow as they want to give us a day with him at home before the weekend so we can call at any point if we need. He has been sent home on a crazy amount of medications but all to assist in clearing his liver of what’s attacking it.
He had his results come back from his lepto and Lyme tests and they were both negative, as were any possibilities of tumours, gull bladder eruptions and cancers. All good news. However they still cannot pin point what is wrong.
He will have the weekend at home and we will bring him back in Monday to be assessed again, and he will be checked weekly until he is fully weaned off all medication. They need to see how his body will adjust to coming off meds and if his body is capable of functioning independently. He will be on meds for 1 month minimum. Still no for sure as to whether or not he will survive this but there is a lot of hope. We’ll take any positivity we can get at this point."
Manny is home with his family for the weekend for some love and cuddles!! Thank you to everyone who has helped. The Salmon's are beyond grateful 💕
