Campaign Story
HELLO!
We are a group of year 3 students from Ngee Ann Polytechnic currently pursuing a diploma in Film, Sound & Video. Pointyman Productions consists of seven of us, five of which are working on this film for our final year capstone project.
LIMBO - OUR STORY
An observation diary about a girl trying to adjust to adulthood, from the perspectives of three people around her – a child she babysits, a bartender from a bar she frequents, and her childhood friend.
DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
What does it mean to be an adult? As we grow older, we start to feel an impending pressure to act a certain way, and when we look at the people around us, sometimes it may seem as if they have all smoothly transitioned into this notion of ‘adulthood’.
But whether that truly is the case, or if everyone is just hiding their insecurities behind a facade of maturity, I wanted to make a film to represent this struggle to keep up with the lofty title of being an ‘adult’. With this film, I hope it can be a source of comfort for those that feel like they are just drifting into the uncharted territory of growing up.

FAQ
1. Why is the budget set at $10,000?
We have taken into consideration the cost of location booking, cast, art, equipment booking, meals etc. Since our film is going to be very heavy on the art direction, and would need pretty high-end locations such as a bar, we have come up with a rough estimate of $10,000 for the film.
2. Does the school not provide funding?
The school provides a base funding of about $2000 for us, but we will need more in order to make this film happen.
3. Where is the current budget coming from?
Most will be covered from our own pockets. Some of us are working part-time to help cover the cost of the film, but it will not be enough due to our limitations as students. Hence, we are searching for as many sources as possible to help us finance our film, and would greatly appreciate any support given!
4. Where will the funding go?
Every cent will be going to the project, and while the school provides some base funding for us, we will need more in order to make this film happen. The funding will be going to:
- Talent renumeration
- Location booking
- Equipment
- Art and set design
- Transportation
- Food
- Cast & crew welfare
5. Where will this project be shown?
We plan on submitting the film to festivals such as Singapore International Film Festival (SGIFF) et cetera, and if the film is able to get in, then it will be screened there. Otherwise, it will just be screened to our classmates at the end of the semester.
6. What is the run time for this film?
Approximately 13-15 minutes.
