Life of Melody is a queer romantic comedy & fantasy graphic novel by Mari Costa about a fairy godfather and a beast raising a child. Originally released as a Patreon exclusive, this Kickstarter's goal is to bring the story to print!

In the fairy realm, a Fairy Godparent is tasked with fulfilling fairy tales in the human world. The human protagonist's own motivations and wishes are of little consequences to the fairy working their case. As such, humans are regarded as pretty difficult to work with by the fairies, who otherwise don't seem to know much about them. The fairy Razzmatazz decides that the perfect solution to get around how unaccommodating humans can be is to raise the fairy tale protagonist from infancy to her 18th birthday. Despite his superiors telling him the idea is completely crazy, he commits to it, and by extension, commits to becoming co-parent with a beast named Bon, who found the child at the same time as him.

Bon and Razzmatazz settle into a human lifestyle and grow as parents, getting more and more attached to Melody. They start to learn about each other's world's - the fairy and beast worlds. They also reveal to one another that Bon knows the secret of Melody's origin, While Razzmatazz knows what her future role should be.

Razzmatazz begins to hesitate - confused by his feelings about his job, his new family and Melody's future, leading both him and Bon to an important decision.

Life of Melody is a story set in the same universe as Mari Costa's ongoing webcomic Peritale. Both comics explore the relationships between fairy godparents and their charges, as well as the influence of magic, love, and free will on one's destiny. Life of Melody was originally published online as a Patreon exclusive, and is a romantic comedy and fantasy comic aimed at teen readers and older.

The printed version of Life of Melody includes all 157 pages of the completed comic, as well as bonus materials. More and more bonus materials will be added with each stretch goal. The book will be a softcover edition of the comic in color.
