“Journey of the Soul” – debut album by Yana

Welcome to my music world. My name is Yana, I’m a singer/songwriter based in Czech Republic yet I have a strong connection to Ireland. It’s basically my home away from home and the majority of my musical activities take place there. Music has always been the driving force of my life. It means absolutely everything. Keeps me alive. The songwriting took me to various places from London, Ireland, Belgium and Czech Republic, I shared the stage with many local talents, had an opportunity to open for The Hills Mover (BE) and there had been a few gigs with Dave Rosewood (US) planned before the pandemic put it on hold.

My biggest dream yet came true in March 2019 when I recorded my debut EP “Distant Shore” in the beautiful AP Studios in Dublin mountains under the watchful eye of the wizard that is Antimo Kelly Puca. I am a solo artist but I had the great pleasure of working with some of Ireland’s finest, including Liam Ó Maonlaí (Hothouse Flowers) or Colm Mac Con Iomaire (The Frames).The EP was finally released in June 2020 and you can have a listen here

The reception was incredible, airplays came from Ireland, UK, USA, Germany or Australia, there were some high praises from the big names in the industry. This motivated me to write the next chapter, the debut album. And here we are. The album work title is “Journey of the soul”. It will contain 9 original songs, the overall theme, as the title suggests, being a journey and its varieties, either real or metaphorical. It will be recorded in AP Studios Dublin again, some musicians will do their part remotely. I am fortunate and deeply honoured to be joined by some incredible talents whom I can call friends.The funds I'm asking for will go towards the studio, the musicians, mixing, mastering, photographer to capture the recording process, artwork, duplication of the CDs and eventually a music video (haven't decided on that one yet).

Nowadays, crowdfunding is a necessary way for independent musicians like myself to be able to gather funds and record and release new music. It is a two way street because the artists get a chance to develop their work and move their career forward and you, the funders, get to hear the new material ahead of usual listeners along with many other rewards for your pledges and support. I am well aware that times are challenging for everyone yet if you decide to support me, it would make a huge difference!

I learnt a lot about myself in the past few years, finding my feet in this tough industry, finding my sound, becoming confident both as a writer and performer. I’m ready to take the next step and hope you will join me on this adventure!
