Campaign Story
Hello all! First of all, I would like to thank you for clicking into this link. Today, we're raising funds for my pet, Russet.
Less than a year ago, Russet went into an emergency surgery due to bladder stones that were blocking his urinary tract and stopped him from peeing. The surgery was done back in May 2020. After his recovery, we brought him back for occasional check-up just to make sure that the stones are cleared.
Fast forward to March 2021, we brought him back for another check. And his stones were back. This time larger than before, the vet told us that the stones this time were larger hence they are non-dissolvable. Russet has been on a prescription diet that helps with the situation, despite that, the stones came back.
Today we ask for all the help we can get to raise some funds to aid in the surgery. We're putting the surgery on hold for now as we've just been out of job and we could use all the help there is. Any cent counts for us during this trying period. We will continue monitoring on Russet's condition, and hope that the stones do not move and clog up his urinary tract for the time being.
As his owner, i'm able to fork out at maximum SGD$3000 given my current situation. For previous donors that are wondering why the initial funds to be raised was SGD$7000 and now SGD$4300, it was the total expense as per his previous surgery. Hence, the amount required to be raised previously.
We are also now trying all options, in hopes that the stones can still be dissolved or become smaller. This includes changing up his diet (that was known for many success stories of calcium oxalate stones dissolving) and give him more supplements and probiotics to ease the situation, or at least maintenance. We are still holding onto the hope that the above mentioned would happen. If it does, we are eternally grateful that a miracle happened. Therefore, donors can wish for either the funds donated to be returned or for it to be used for Russet's future vet visits.
Once again, thank you to all for reading this, and for helping us on Russet's recovery journey.
