I am a recently qualified lawyer. A dream come true. I was excited when I qualified because this meant realising the dream of dispensing justice to those who cannot afford legal services, usually the most indigent and vulnerable of our society. Helping these members of society is important to me and I want it to be the theme of my career. But this is not easy because of the costs involved which these members cannot cover. In turn, this makes it extremely difficult for me to start, sustain and operate my legal practice to offer a helping hand.

Public interest litigation is important in empowering and giving the most disenfranchised in our society a seat at the table to have their voice heard. It is also the most disregarded practice area because it does not offer financial reward for the lawyer. However I am determined to focus on it. It is however difficult because the South African economy is harsh and unforgiving. This is why I am reaching out and asking for help.

I need help with the startup capital and operating costs to set up my law practice so I can help these defenseless and destitute members of our society. In doing so I am also looking to create employment for young previously disadvantaged graduates to train and give practical experience.

I believe in the goodness of people and I am appealing to that goodness in order to steer this worthy cause that will give power back to the people.

Nelson Mandela and so many others gave us hope that we can have a better tomorrow. It is upon to make sure we achieve that!
