- Two years ago I received the news that I needed a total hip replacement. After being blessed with good health for most of my life, I went into total denial for a few months, followed by another few months of deep depression. Finally I decided that life is worth living , and I accepted a teaching post in Pune, India, with the understanding that I would have Health Insurance and have my operation during the school holidays. I was SO excited and filled with renewed hope for my future.
- I was sitting in the Visa office...ticket and passport in hand, when the borders got shut down for Covid. It was devastating... to say the least!!!
- I have since moved to Sedgefield and started “Hummingbird Homeschool “ in order to provide a safe haven for children affected by school closures etc. But now, I am becoming exhausted with having pain 24/7 and it gets worse every day, and if I don’t have the op soon, I will not be able to walk anymore. I have been a passionate and dedicated Montessori teacher for the last 30 years, after this op I will be able to teach for another 20 !!!
- SO.....not having any other options right now, as the waiting list in State Hospitals is 5 years, (and I won’t last 5 years....
- I am taking this route and asking for a little help from my friends 😊
- I know it is a huge amount of money to raise, but any contribution you are able to make will be deeply appreciated.
