University of Wisconsin- Whitewater Warhawks Shooting Sports Team
This year we want to recruit 100 new student athletes to join the SCHOLASTIC SPORTS SHOOTING FOUNDATION and the WARHAWK'S TEAM
The Wisconsin Scholastic Sports Shooting Foundation has proven that providing student athletes with a safe and fun environment to participate in the shooting sports builds leaders for the future. Our young leaders are prepared to fight for 2nd amendment rights. We must continue to introduce the shooting sports to more student athletes.
Your gift will help us grow your local team and help build the UWW-Warhawks Shooting Team and operating fund.so we can fund our new team. We need to raise $5,000 immediately so we can send a team of student athletes to the College Nationals in Ohio at the end of October, 2017.
We must develop interest in our cause though new groups, clubs and teams. We must provide these new students with the financial means to join our sport. Adding young people to our ranks will help us preserve our heritage and constitution. Please donate to help us grow our mission. Over half of the students expressing interest in the Shooting Sports have no previous shooting experience. They want to learn and what to be safe but need other students and SCTP/SASP leaders to help them.
In just the first year of participation in the Scholastic Sport Shooting Foundation and Scholastic Clay Target Program (SCTP) the Whitewater Team has over 60 college students participating. And that number is expected to double once the team starts competitive shooting. The SSSF is an educational-athletic organization that exists to introduce school-age youths to the shooting sports and to facilitate their continued involvement by providing, promoting, and perpetuating opportunities to safely and enjoyably participate and compete in a high-quality, team-based sport led by trained adult coaches focused on enhancing the personal growth and development of their athletes
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM – Over 78 Colleges and Universities offer competitive shooting programs for their students. Some offer scholarship opportunities based on academics and shooting skills. But most students at the college level won’t be awarded a scholarship from a college or university. Our funding raising efforts will help fund our operating budget and scholarship program.
THE CHALLENGE –With nearly dozens of students eager to participate on local teams, financial resources for event entry fees, insurance, ammunition, practice cost and safety equipment exceed the students and parents resources. While some local organizations, corporate sponsors and individuals have generously supported the team, the overwhelming burden of cost is bared by the student and/or parent. PLEASE HELP US MEET OUR GOAL!. Each student athlete is required to raise a minimum of $300 thought this campaign in order to be a member of the team. Thank you.
