When the tooth fairy comes to visit your husband more than your 8 year old, pulling a tooth in our house gets a different meaning.

Now, talking about a tooth fairy might sound funny or exciting under normal conditions but, in OUR house, it has truly become one of our biggest nightmares.

About a year ago my husband was diagnosed with Periodontal Disease. After constant tooth aches and numerous trips to the dentist he was finally referred to a periodontitis (yup, I also thought it was tongue twister) who after assessing his x-rays, was shocked to find out that his teeth is only embedded 30% into his gums. At the age of 35 his teeth are in a worse condition than someone of 70 years of age. He explained to us that the only way to fix this is for him to get all his teeth extracted and get a set of dentures for above and below (like an elder person) and which we just do not have the money for as it will cost half of a houses price. Or watch his teeth fall out one by one as it has already begun. The problem is, because he is already missing so many, his current teeth are pulling further and further apart from one another and just getting looser in the process, and being so young, at this rate by the time he is 40 he might not have any left.

So, after many months of sleepless nights and making plans and watching as my husband is unable to jog because his teeth is so loose it will literally fall out of his mouth (no jokes), being unable to smile like he used to on a photo because he is too embarrassed by the condition of his teeth, planning meals consisting of mostly soft food or having to watch him swallow his food whole or pretending he is not hungry for steak or at this point even a slice of bread. Not even to mention the tension in the house as he is in a constant bad mood with a very short temper (we have two kids in middle school) due to having to life with constant tooth ache. Which, I obviously understand but it is still difficult.

I have decided to gather the courage and bury my pride and start a fundraiser for him. During my prayer time I was once again reminded that God works through all of us and that we are His hands and feet, his heart and soul and he gave me Mark 11 verse 24 which says "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."

If this speaks to your heart and you feel that you want to give or can help us in any way (even if it is just through prayer), I pray proverbs 11 verse 25 over you. “The generous soul will prosper, and those who refresh will also be refreshed.”

Please note that I have not added a photo of him.I trust that you will understand why.Thank you and God Bless!
