Wheelchair Van For Jason

Here is a little about Jason :

For those that don't know Jason, he is now 15 years old, he was born 01/30/2000. He was a full term baby. Everything was fine throughout the pregnancy. He was growing at a normal rate, all ultra sounds were perfect. No signs of any problems. But when Jason was born, he didn't cry for a few minutes. I saw the doctors and nurses working frantically around him, I couldn't hear much and what I could hear was mostly doctor talk. I asked if my baby was ok, but not one of the people in the room would answer me.
Jason's dad was staring in the direction of our baby, but even he looked like he was in shock. He looked at me and said he's blue, he's blue. And he repeated that a few times. And after all this I finally heard my baby scream out. Not loudly but I could hear life. I was scared for him. And all the nurses and doctors said he was fine. Nothing wrong, he's a perfect baby boy. And as they start to clear the room, a nurse asked me if I wanted to hold him before they took him to run some other tests. Of course I want to hold my baby, so as she handed him to me, I count his fingers and toes and look into his tiny face and see this perfect little angel. So I am calmed by knowing he looks fine.
But what the doctors failed to tell us at birth, Jason was not breathing when he was born, they revived Jason and that is why we didn't hear him cry for those minutes after birth.
So now Jason has developmental delays, he can not walk, talk, sit up, eat, or do any thing for himself. He is tube fed. He is on medication to help control his seizures. He is cared for by me, and my husband and my 2 daughters do what they can to help me with Jason. And we have a nurse that comes in the mornings to help get Jason ready for school in the morning, she washes him up, gets him dressed and into his chair and she then goes on the bus with him to care for him while he is in school. This help is something I would always say no thanks to when offered to me before, but these past few years I am thankful for this help.

Jason's diagnosis is : Non-Lissencephalic Cortical Dysplasia. You can look up the meaning on google if you would like. Jason is legally blind and what little peripheral vision he did have is now being taken over by cataracts. Jason is an all around happy guy. But like everyone he has his bad days. Anyone who knows Jason will tell you he is fun to be around. He can make you smile just seeing how happy he is. I sometimes stare at him and wonder what he's thinking. What's making him laugh at that particular time. And I even think about his future and how it will be for him. Sometimes it gets overwhelming to think about. He is my sunshine.

Jason has many appointments to go to such as, neuro, ortho, gastro, primary, dental, eye doctors and a van would make it so much easier to get him to these places and be much easier on my back that's for sure. I normally never ask for help, but Jason deserves this. If this doesn't help get a van for Jason, I will have to try something else.
