We Were Here – Graduation Film

Hey there!

We are a group of passionate 3rd-year film students at SAE Institute in Cape Town, who are currently raising funds for our final graduation film. This film is a project that is very close to our hearts and will be a showcase of the talents and skills we have worked hard on developing throughout our degree. This film will be used as part of our showreels/portfolios and hopefully accelerate our future careers as filmmakers and creatives.

Your donations will go directly towards funding this project and covering expenses such as gear hire, location rentals, production design, casting, craft services etc. While we are aiming for the stars with our fundraising goal, we are confident that with your help we can make this dream come true. More about the film:

We Were Here is a tragic enemies-to-lovers, summer-style short film. It follows two people who get double booked to housesit a beach-side mansion, initially hating each other. Over the course of the 3 days they fall in love, only to realize they are already dead. A 40-minute romantic drama that will leave you searching...

Synopsis:

Oliver arrives at his aunt Sheryl's mansion to house-sit for three days but upon arrival, his aunt explains that she accidentally promised the job to another person, Dean. Already off to a rocky start, they avoid each other as much as possible but still manage to get on their nerves. Dean decides to throw a party while Oliver tries to sabotage all her plans until he realizes no one pitched. They make amends over some drinks, but after a few too many and dancing at a party just for them, they kiss and all of their memories of a past life together come flooding back. They discover they were once a couple that died in a tragic accident and have been gifted a final day together before needing to face whatever comes next.
