Waiting for SSI – Disability

This fundraiser is to help support and give courage to a psychiatic patient who is diagnosised with BiPolar disorder.  Of course his is the worse type one could have. Over the last 3 years he has been treated with a combination of medications.  Unfortunately their ability to treat his disorder and work at the theraputic levels which helped create a normal range of emotions not the fast mood swings just have stopped working as they once did.  About 10 days ago I realized that something was seriously wrong, his actions and attitude were harder to deal with and understand.  Within days he confided in me that he had thoughts of suicide, giving great detail to one or more of his plan.   It was at that time we discussed with his counselor about these thoughts and she gave us the address fo VACU medical hospital. The wonderful staff at the University Medical center worked as a team to get him on new medication and how to deal with his BiPolar discorder.   It was, at the time of his release confirmed that he could NO LONGER work. Filing for Social Security is difficult enough on its own, but to put someone with extreme psychiatic disorders opens the patient up for several possibilities of harmful thoughts and situations. Fortunately, Josh has a great team of support, but that is not enough.  Josh is still concerned about the day to day worries i.e.  the bills, car insurance, home owner's and utilities and food.   He has applied for all of the services offered.  Still he struggles each day about money for bills, food and much needed winter clothing.   I wish to thank you for looking at our fundraiser; Please find it in your heart to make the minimum donation.  It is my goal of having all of the money collected before the fundraiser expires.  With all of my gratitued.
