Volunteering in Wildlife Vet Programme

Hi, my name is WingKa and I am a veterinary student studying in Glasgow. As a third year student, the coming summer holiday will sadly be my last but I am determined to make the most of it. Which is why I am planning to spend 2 weeks from July 23rd to August 5th volunteering in a wildlife programme with Vets & Wildlife in South Africa. This will be an amazing educational experience for me as I have been interested in African wildlife for as long as I can remember.

I will be covering the costs for flights to South Africa but unfortunately the organisation which I will be working with does charge for food, accommodation, and transfer from the airport which adds up to £1,995. Hence I am reaching out to you for help and would be extremely grateful for any support you can offer to make this extraordinary experience possible!

More About Me:

I am particularly interested in learning about the extent of which a vet can have an impact on the welfare of wildlife animals, and I hope to gain some insight through this experience. This placement will help me make a difference in animal welfare in my future career as I will be exposed to unique cases in a rural environment. This will broaden my perspective on the different issues that can be raised compromising animal welfare and observing how these situations are approached will help me develop better critical thinking skills on how to go about animal welfare issues in different contexts myself.
