Volunteer in Maputo, Mozambique

Hello there!

I have always wanted to go abroad to just help as much as I could and in any way I can in countries that need much help. This has been a big interest to me since years earlier, however the budget was just overwhelming for me and this kept me on the sidelines. I have been researching around and I have been trying to find ways to help raise some money with this trip. I found this site and figured to give it a try.

I have found and decided to choose the organization Save the Children because of their great reviews, rating, grade, and most importantly 89% of the contributions are actually being spent well with their program services to the children.

I am a sponsor for a 5yr old girl named Elisa from Mozambique. She is one of the reasons why I am here to ask for your support to help me volunteer in Mozambique for just a week and provide these contributions and my physical help to these children like her in providing their nourishments, help build better classrooms, and buy their school supplies.

I know it is near impossible that every child can be saved in the whole world, but I believe in trying to make at least some difference in one's path to be steered in a prosperous direction.

So…what I am trying to achieve?

In general and shorter terms, I am trying to raise and get funding to volunteer in Maputo, Mozambique for 1 week.

How am I going to try in achieving this?

I have 3 ways in helping me earn and hopefully will be enough to reach at least my 2 goals.

1. I am going to provide my photography services to any event you might need a photographer to deem useful.

I am not a professional photographer, but a student currently continuing my BFA in AAU in San Francisco for Photography.

So any event- to birthday, individual portraiture, plain fun, sport's game, etc. - I would like to take up any offers to help me raise, at least my Fundraiser Goal.

Unfortunately, I would not want to do Weddings, or Engagements. It's best to leave these very special events to the professionals who are more familiar with these type of situations J.

There is no flat amount of what I am asking with my photography service.

Any contribution you can do will help – from monetary or to anything you do not use, or want, anymore from home that would be helpful in a garage sale will become of same, precious value!

2. I am hosting a garage sale at home this coming Sunday and possibly another one if necessary.

I will also be selling simple snacks to better my chances.

3. The BEST part -- I am holding a raffle drawing with the Nexus 7 Google tablet as the prize!!

I am selling a ticket for $10each. Please come find/call/text me if you are interested...

I am open to doing the photography jobs during the weekends(Fri-Sat) until the end of the year or maybe til early next year.
