Vollit enhances your volunteering aspirations and gives you an infinite number of opportunities to do so. In the GTA’s rapid-growth population and community, Thousands of high school students and adults are looking for an efficient way to volunteer. Currently, you would have to ask around and look for friends and family that will accept you for a volunteering job, however Vollit is a solution that you will love. The relevancy of Vollit is indisputable, and due to the above facts, our target audience would be very satisfied with it’s services.
Hypothesis/Goal: If we use a community driven design and a hands-off approach, then we get self-sustainability because the users are looking for volunteers, and the users are the volunteers at the same time. This allows for independency in the users.
Materials: The creation of Vollit is presumed to be accomplished with the following technologies:
Research: After looking for how other companies use these methods, we found that the only reason sites like Reddit are so popular and organized, is because Reddit let’s it’s users moderate and categorize themselves. This approach allows for self-sustainability for the Vollit community. Currently there is no method which allows for organized and coordinated volunteering directly between the vendor and consumer. Organization is key when catering to niche customers who are unsure of what they are looking for. Vollit’s goal is to take advantage of these tendencies.
Procedure/Plans: We will first begin by programming our web application and testing it locally on our own hardware. Next, we will work on the server-side part of the web application and integration of the website with the web application.Then we will cater to feedback provided to us on social media, surveys, and reviews. Finally, we will market it through trusted brands in a way so that it directly impacts our niche audience and people interested in the service.
Observations: Vollit is a fully semi-functional web application in it’s alpha stages. From feedback of preliminary ideas, we have seen that 50% of surveyed clients said Vollit was a ⅘ app in terms of how valuable it was. Also, 50% of surveyed clients would use Vollit for 1-3 month(s). Lastly, more 60% surveyed consumers said they will use Vollit about 1-2 times a week and 66% they will be a high school user.
Conclusion and analysis: We clearly see Vollit appeals to the surveyed audience as the results were clearly in the favor of Vollit as all results were above 50%. Also, High School students are extremely looking forward to use Vollit for their high school hours. Therefore, we see that our target audience’s opinion is in accordance with our hypothesis and it is correct.
