It is never easy asking for help, especially when it comes to money. In my opinion, it's a shameful thing to do, because I'm the kind of person who feels you should make due with what you have. This time, though, we truly need your help.My name is Paul Vlosich and on July 20, I will be marrying my partner Kyle Loewy. For the past 4 years, we have been together and live together. Supporting each other doesn't even begin to describe the bond we have. Everyone needs that someone to care for, to love and to hold, to interact with in order to manage the daily stresses of life. On a daily basis, we have coached and counseled each other in the good times and the very bad times. Yes, there are days in which tempers flare up. At the end of each day, though, we forgive and go to sleep... tomorrow is always a new day again. That's the love that we share. On April 6, 2013, I took myself down on one knee at the Rockefeller Center in New York City. It was right in front of the skating rink in the shadow of 30 Rock where I asked Kyle for his hand in marraige. From there, we didn't necessarily set a date for the wedding. After all, same-sex marriage was banned in our home state of Pennsylvania. On May 20, 2014, that all changed. That ban was struck down and we decided to follow suit. We are now the first same-sex couple in Fayette County, PA history to have a marriage license! The reason I'm making this funding project is because we are quickly finding out that weddings aren't cheap. If it comes down to it, then we will just have to go to a Justice of the Peace to do the ceremony. I actually had that in mind.... and then I saw how much love and support our friends showed for us. They cheered us on as we filed our application for a marriage license and everyone is excited to come to the wedding! ..uh oh, that means we have to have a real ceremony & reception!!Between the two of us, the household income is barely $30,000. The rent/bills pretty much take up a majority of our paychecks. Yes, I can try to get some sponsors here and there... but I'm guessing not many small businesses will be jumping, ready to help us out. We have set a modest goal of $1000. This should be able to cover the reception hall, some catering, and a DJ. We are already trying to go on the cheap, but if we want this to be particularly special for both ourselves and our friends....we need your help.Thank you for reading this and I hope you can spare some generosity. Thank you and bless you!Note: I listed Pittsburgh since it is the nearest big city. We live in Uniontown, PA, a rural community about an hour south of Pittsburgh and 30 minutes north of the WV state border.
