Vito means life

Meet Vito - the source of life who inspires his parents, Alejandra (Ale) and Andy, to be strong and resilient. Vito was born with an incomplete diagnosis of his health at birth but with a number of identified medical issues: incomplete hearing, inability to hold his head straight, inability to talk, walk, see, eat properly, or hit any of the childhood milestones. The most recent diagnosis, at one year and eight months, is cerebral palsy. According to https://www.cerebralpalsy.org/: "while Cerebral Palsy (pronounced seh-ree-brel pawl-zee) is a blanket term commonly described by loss or impairment of motor function, Cerebral Palsy is actually caused by brain damage. The brain damage is caused by brain injury or abnormal development of the brain that occurs while a child’s brain is still developing — before birth, during birth, or immediately after. Cerebral Palsy affects body movement, muscle control, muscle coordination, muscle tone, reflex, posture and balance. It can also impact fine motor skills, gross motor skills and oral motor functioning."

Ale and Andy are two full-time working parents, juggling their professional commitments with providing for their family, and they, along with their daughter Ari, are tirelessly committed to finding the best medical care for Vito. Most immediately, they need to purchase a special chair for Vito that will prevent him from developing scoliosis (~4,000 USD). Any additional funds raised will be used by the two parents as they continue to seek answers in Vito's development.

We have been fortunate to know Ale through work. She's moved us not just with her story but most importantly with her optimistic attitude as she navigates through life.
