Vinnie Murphy & Melissa Mason Murphy Family Funeral Fund

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I share the tragic news which the Murphy/Mason & extended family experienced 10/17/17 at approximately 1:00am. Parents and dear family/friends to Nebraska & Colorado communities Jefferson aka "Vinnie" Murphy and wife Melissa (Mason) Murphy have five children ranging in age from 5 - 19. This morning they were awakened to the gruesome and unimaginable scene of their 5 year old Sophia & 7 year old Noah fighting for life after being stabbed from the hands of their oldest brother Malik. Malik had been suffering from mental illness, depression, and thoughts of suicide but recently showing signs of improvement. He was attending college, and just the day before the entire family enjoyed the afternoon and evening playing football together out in the yard. Vinnie apprehended his son until the police arrived and during the struggle was actually stabbed in the neck himself as well from his son. Although Vinnie is thankfully set to recover from his injury, the two youngest children Noah & Sophia have gone to be with the Lord. They are survived by their parent's Vinnie, Melissa, and sibblings Malik, Elijah & Hannah.
