Veteran = incapable parent

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!

You might have heard and said those words before. We do thank our soldiers, our veterans for what they have done and still do. But not everybody is friendly towards veterans. Sometimes it's the mother of your own child who uses anything she can to make a veteran Daddy look like the pure enemy.

This particular veteran I am talking about is a devoted and loving father to his minor child. After a very expensive divorce and basically giving up anything he saved to his Ex, he pays his child support on a regular basis and as long as he has less time with his child than the mother does (securing the higher child support) everything is fine.

After being retired and having more free time the veteran does something unthinkable: he is asking for more time with his child!

With this step, the veteran now became THE enemy. Having more time with his child equals paying less child support and that is a total NOGO! Now the mother has to attack...here comes another war!

The mother seeks to find the best attorney in the area, a shark, hired to eat the veteran with the unthinkable wish alive. All we can do now to attack the veteran Dad is to go back a few years and dig in the dirt and review: didn't the veteran come back after he had been deployed twice and saw a therapist? And wasn't he not quite the same man he was before his deployment and yes, doesn't that indicate that this man is absolutely dangerous your honor?

REALLY? He was not a danger all those years before, taking the last penny away from this 'oh so dangerous' man was not an issue, in fact there was never an issue, no reports, no incidents whatsoever. The only 'danger' is the decreased child support this mother will be facing should the 'horrible' father of his child get his wish granted.

The war is ongoing, the veteran Daddy had to hire a lawyer and got slapped with invoices, court fees etc. trying to protect his right of privacy.

Still about 18.000 Dollars in attorney-fees to be paid (even though we are paying off on a monthly basis)...and in case you wonder who is writing these lines: This wonderful man I am talking about also happens to be my great, loving and caring husband. The reason he does not know what I am doing here is not that he is dangerous :) It's just that he is a very proud man and I will tell him once the fundraiser shows first signs of success.

And by the way: yes, we are both working (my hubby went to get a job right away to pay off the debt, yet this job is a low income and even with my income we can barely make ends meet) We had to sell one car and still barely make it because of the ongoing payments that eat us up. 

My husband is very desperate because all our plans for the future are on ice. It feels like hitting a wall and all we want to be is being able to pay off our debt.

Any kind of donation will be highly appreciated and even though there is not much we can offer, please be assured that we will be very thankful and that each dollar will be used to pay off the attorney fees.

Also I would like to ask for your understanding that we are not including our pictures. The reason is that we don't want the Ex to find out. Thank you so much for your understanding and your time.
