Hi, my name is Rachel (everyone calls me Cookie). I recently spent time in the Himalayas with my husband, Dave, trekking to Everest Base Camp. We met Ngima Nuru Sherpa as we were waiting to fly out of the mountains and were struck by his gentle manner and quiet confidence. When the earthquake struck we were relieved to hear that Ngima was safe but saddened that his village and home were destroyed. We want to help, so here we are :)
