Campaign Story
Assalamu Alaikum everyone, my good friend Samia is facing medical costs of over $18,000 USD for the heart procedure that she desperately needs. She has been dealing with a severe cardiac arrythmia for years, and in July of 2023, her weakness and fatigue became so severe that she could barely stand up. She was taken to the hospital and told that she urgently needs a cardiac ablation to treat it. This surgery costs over $18,000 USD, and her family has no way to raise this kind of money. The foundation that has helped pay for a part of her medicine over the past few years cannot help her either, as it's too much money to spend on a single surgery for them.
We were able to enroll her with the Mexican Social Security in the hopes that they would pay for the surgery since healthcare is supposedly socialized in Mexico for anyone enrolled in it, but in mid October 2023, she was finally able to see a heart specialist under Mexican Social Security, and they confirmed the severity of her condition, saying that she is developing a second arrythmia as well, but they also informed her that because she was just enrolled a few months ago, this is considered a pre-existing condition and the Mexican Social Security will not pay for the surgery.
So I’m asking from the bottom of my heart on behalf of Samia and her family: if you have any amount of money that you can spare in order to help cover the cost of the heart surgery, I urge you to please donate to this campaign. I am making this plea on her behalf because of how serious her situation is, and if you want any proof or have any questions about the situation that you want answered in order to make sure that this case is legitimate before donating, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
