o PET/CT study is requested for status evaluation and re-staging.

Technique:

o For the aforementioned patient we have done a whole body PET scan 60 minute after IV

injection of 300 MBq of 18 F-FDG.

o 16 MSCT scan was performed using Siemens Biograph simultaneously and used for

attenuation correction, anatomical localization and diagnosis.

Max. variant of SUV; a Semi-quantitative analysis would be done for selected ROIS and

the normal threshold is <2.5.

Findings:

A) Head and Neck; site of concern:

> Asymmetric mild thickening of Rt. glottic; as well as; supra- and (to less extent) infra-

glottic; regions is seen associated with diffuse and rather symmetrical laryngeal and

thyroid gland increased tracer uptake with SUVmax up to 4; likely representing

Radiation-Related Changes.

> Few sub-cm bilateral III and IV cervical LN. are seen with no dense tracer uptake.

> No other pathologic enlarged or dense tracer fixing cervical LN. seen.

> Normal appearance of the naso-oro-pharynx.

> Normal appearance of sub-mandibular and parotid salivary glands.

B) Chest:

> Multiple Lt. and few Rt. pleural nodular thickenings (up to 1.5 cm) are seen eliciting

increased tracer uptake with SUVmax up tp 6

> Clear rest of both lungs with no definite parenchymal nodules or infiltrates seen.

> The heart appears relatively enlarged; warranting better ECHO assessment.

> No evidence of pleural or pericardial effusion detected.

> Few enlarged Lt. anterior pericardio-phrenic LN. (up to 1.4 cm) are seen eliciting

mildly increased tracer uptake with SUVmax up to 3.

> No other pathologic enlarged or dense tracer fixing hilar or mediastinal LN.s seen.
