Urgent Cancer Funding

After our Mom, Alison Cavé, heroically overcame terminal cancer at a young age; we were hopeful that she had conquered the "Big C" once and for all. However, fate has dealt us a cruel blow, as the demon has returned stronger than ever before.

The devastating news of her cancer recurrence, after 27 years in remission, has deeply saddened us, and our hearts weigh heavy with concern for her health. Our Mom has been diagnosed with extremely rare and high-risk pelvic cancer.

Over the past two months, Mom has endured countless gruelling PET scans, MRIs, and oncology consultations while experiencing excruciating pain and discomfort. The journey has been arduous for her so far, both physically and emotionally.

She has since been referred to a highly esteemed professor specialising in "Radical Surgery Treatment" - an aggressive but necessary approach reserved for advanced and/or recurrent cancers.

This procedure is performed only 3-5 times a year and demands the utmost expertise. The surgery, scheduled for 7 July '23, is life-altering, complex and challenging, which we have been warned will be an emotional and overwhelming experience for our courageous Mom. Her recovery will depend on physical therapy, rehabilitation to regain strength and functionality, and counselling.

The gravity of this situation cannot be overstated, as the medical care required for the best possible chance of recovery is both complex and costly. We humbly appeal to you in an earnest plea for financial support to help pay for the extensive medical treatment, physiotherapy, and counselling. This includes specialist consultations, laboratory tests, medications, rehabilitation, and ongoing medical services.

Every contribution, no matter how big or small, would serve as a beacon of hope in this dark period and will make a tremendous difference in our Mom's journey toward healing and reclaiming her quality of life.

This journey has been nothing short of traumatic, and Mom has faced unimaginable fear while making incredibly difficult decisions. Nevertheless, her unwavering bravery, strength, and courage continue to inspire all of us, instilling a firm belief that she will again conquer cancer.
