Campaign Story
Children deserve a good start in life. Psychological tests have proven that children who are nurtured in their formative years, become the most productive adults. However, not all parents can afford to provide a good formative education for their children, especially in communities plagued by socio-economic problems like alcoholism and poverty.
It is my vision to create an educational platform for 2-6 year old children where they are prepared for formal education. Today as a result of larger classes, teachers cannot afford to give individual attention due to size and financial constraints which means that a large percentage of kids fall by the wayside. If their desire for education is fostered from the formative years and they are equipped with the necessary linguistic, numeric and life skills, their comprehension ability is incrementally increased before they start their formal education. This essentially means that they will cope better with tasks once they enter the formal education system.
What we are looking for is funding to buy equipment and subsidising part of the costs to run an institution like this. We do understand that times are tough, but every small contribution will go a long way to assisting us achieve this end. Remember, what you invest in education today will repay you a million times tomorrow. If you create a generation of contributors and entrepreneurs, it creates a more stable platform for the future. Countries like Germany, Japan, Korea and China are economically successful primarily as a result of their investment in their youth. We in South Africa are in an unfortunate situation where our government structures have failed the populace so relying on government will not resolve the problem. It is up to you and me to make a difference, albeit, a little one.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
