Type $1 Campaign

November is National Diabetes Awareness Month. It’s also the month both myself and my little sister, Cameron have birthdays. Cameron died back in 2012 to this disease from something called “dead in bed syndrome” which I’ll share more about later this month.

This year I am asking on her behalf (which she would be PISSED about, so don’t tell her) if you would all join us in a campaign to raise awareness for this disease I live with everyday.

I’m calling it the Type $1 Campaign.

It’s simple - I am asking for people to donate one dollar. And ONLY 1.

It’s intended to be purposely irritating - clicking a link to donate, having to enter your credit card information, or if you’re mailing a letter having to take the time to address it and stamp it… think about the time you’ll spend doing all that….just to donate ONE. DOLLAR.

That’s my life. That’s the life of a Type One Diabetic….stopping 4-8 times a day to test a blood sugar, or take insulin, or count carbs just to get one lousy number on a screen that tells us our body is functioning “like a normal person”.

I am asking you all, for just a second, to Type $1 with me.
