From July 15-30, I’m excited to be heading to the village of Erseka, Albania for a mission trip, and I will be serving alongside with one of the youth groups I attend on Sunday mornings, at the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. (For those of you who do not know where Albania is, imagine the boot of Italy hitting to the right. You’ll land there! :D). Our hosts are the Stoscher family, some local missionaries that are supported by many Christian churches across the globe.
The Stoscher family leads a youth camp in Eserka, Albania dedicated to serving Albania teenagers with disabilities so that they may know God through the experiences they have in this camp and each other. The teenager’s camps have been full, with activities from sports to rock climbing to Bible teaching with music. I will be part of this wonderful camp, doing odd jobs such as being a dean, a game supervisor, and even (bleh!) a pooper scooper!
For me, personally, this trip will hold a special place in my heart. My brothers got to experience this amazing opportunity to go to an unknown territory, and be a servant of Christ to these young children, and I am the next on the list. There is a slight language barrier, so I get the opportunity to serve teenagers that don’t look like me, may not act like me, or even using Suave shampoo and conditioner on a daily basis (like me!).
Money is a necessity for this trip, but prayers are also a necessity. The cost for the entire trip is $2500 dollars, for transportation, airfare, and expenses to and from Albania. If you would like to support my fundraising efforts, please make checks payable to the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. The address of the church is 1760 N. Gower St. Hollywood, CA 90028. Please put on the memo of the check, “Tyler W., Albania Trip.” You can also donate through this fundraising page as well.
I appreciate your willingness to read this letter, and partnering alongside us for this trip,
