Help us hike the Appalachian Trail!
WHO?
My name is Josh, and for years it has been my dream to thru-hike the AT. The dream began when I was a boy, on weekend camping trips with my Cub Scout and then Boy Scout groups. I spent several summers teaching at a camp, sharing my knowledge of the outdoors, and it has all built to this. Now, I'm finally ready.
Joining me on the trail is my girlfriend of nearly eight years, a hiker and camper in her own right.
WHAT?
But what is the AT, you ask? It is a long distance backpacking trail in the Eastern US, ranging from Springer Mountain in Georgia to Mount Katahdin in Maine. The trail winds for over 2000 miles across a diverse selection of landforms not found almost anywhere else.
HOW MUCH?
We have most of our gear purchased. We are working to build up as much savings as we can to afford the remaining gear AND our food, but it's so tight that we probably won't have anything to return to, and possibly won't even have enough money to complete the trail. We're asking for donations to help us afford food for the journey. Every little bit helps!
