We sincerely appreciate the support and whole-heartedly believe that every little bit counts, supports comes in many different forms and we are grateful for every one of them.
About Twins As One (一心一力)
A younger twin must learn to overcome her greed for money and quit the gang or lose her older sister forever.
Synopsis
The money-minded younger twin, Qian Qi (Qi), and her older twin, Qian Ting (Ting) lead unconventional lives. After the death of their parents, they had to work as hitmen in a gang - just to pay their debt.
After years of a steady income, one special mission causes Qi to go unhinged and Ting, afraid of what Qi has become, suggests to open a Tau Suan Dessert Shop together. However, Qi's desire for a more luxurious life contrasts Ting's ambition for a humble life. These conflicting views elicit a strain in their relationship.
Now, Qi's ultimate goal is to conquer her ever-growing greed for a life of wealth and luxury; allowing her to become inseparable from the world of sisterhood.
Through this emotional roller coaster journey, would the twins be able to pull through all odds together?
Themes & Messages
Sibling Bond:
The very core of this film is the bond between siblings. In spite of the highs and lows life throws their way, they discover that their Sibling Bond is of utmost important value and no one can take it away from them, no matter what.
Sacrifice:
Despite going through a lot on their own, the twins made sacrifices in order to ensure the happiness and well-being of the other. The will to sacrifice stems from the virtue of being grateful for WHAT you have and WHO you have. Hence, we would love to show this in the film through the eyes of the twins.
Idealism:
Qi's ideals had always been driven by wealth, however through this experience she grows by changing her priorities - initially dominated by a desire for money, now replaced by understanding the importance of her relationship with her only family, Ting.
Director's Message
This story is inspired by my relationship with my sister. We may fight and hate each other at times, but nothing can replace the beautiful bond that both of us share.
With this film, I aim to highlight about appreciating your loved ones. As humans, we tend to neglect the things that we have in our everyday lives until we lose them. When was the last time you ever sat down with your family to have a nice chat? When was the last time you ever said “I love you” to your family members? With all these questions in mind, we hope that this film will remind people to appreciate your loved ones more.
I would also like to tackle the issue about money, “With money you can buy a house, but not a home." I would like to remind everyone that we should not get too caught up with making a living, that we forget to make a life.
