TS Kelly 24 hours in a Life Raft Challenge

TS Kelly Hebburn Sea cadets are on a mission to get the ships company afloat. With over 30 Sea cadets aged between 9 and 18 years of age and Adult Volunteers. TS Kelly offers fun and adventure on a nautical theme.

However, we have a snagging problem we are trying to raise money to purchase a Rib-craft, this is a Boat suitable to deliver the Sea cadet experience and allow us to give a high standard of RYA training and offer Nationally recognised qualifications. Not just to our Hebburn Sea cadets but to cadets from all around Tyne and Wear.

Recently Tyne and Wear Marine Limited supplied and installed a wonderful pontoon allowing TS Kelly Sea cadets access to the water. This is going to give us so much opportunity for the young people and we hope with our series of 24 hour challenges we will raise enough money to purchase the boat.

A boat that will be a training craft, a safety boat for waterborne activity and something that we would be able to deliver the greatest experience to the young people in South Tyneside.

Thanks to the wonderful Tyne and Wear Marine Limited who will be providing Safety cover and emergency support we will be spending 24 hours in a Life raft with just basic rations. At one with the elements, where the River meets the Sea we will be without any basic facilities, without loved ones, without creature comforts in hope that we will raise the money needed to buy our Sea cadets the Rib craft.

So please please dig deep and back this amazing challenge. Our Adult Volunteers are amazing with the endurance challenges so far and have raised £260. But, we need your support every little bit helps.
