WHO ARE WE:
Trinity Methodist (TMC) is an inner-city church in the center of South Africa, that can trace her roots back to 1848. Today, we are a diverse multi-cultural society of all ages and ethnic backgrounds. We pride ourselves of being such a diverse "mixed-economy" family who are open and loving to all people, who represent HOPE in a country that is often torn between political and racial divides. We strive to be a community that offers our city a beacon to light. We believe that God has placed us smack in the middle of South Africa to be that preverbal stone in the pond that send ripples across the country.
WHAT DO WE DO:
Over the last few years, we have started food programs in a relationship with Rise Against Hunger (South Africa) to feed the poor children in poor communities making sure they have the proper nutrients for their early childhood development. We have several school which we provide food for and are now branching out into Lesotho. We also support adults and families in those poor communities.
We also provide sanitary towels to poor women who cannot afford proper care and toiletries for both men and women.
This is only two ministries that we do...We do so much.
But this time... we need to regroup;
WHY WE NEED:
However, right now, the economy has hit us hard. We are R700 000 behind in our annual budget and I'm holding onto my faith in knowing that God will provide - even if it is just to pay my staff.
We didn't ask the question: "Why did God let this happen?", rather we asked, "What is God's purpose behind this and what does he want us to do about it?"
The Answer... The good news is; God has allowed this to happen, giving our community a common goal in which to unite us in deeper and more profound ways. The money we require is only a tool used to give us a tangible way of measuring our progress towards strengthening our multi-cultural bonds and to become a brighter shining beacon for the city of Bloemfontein.
THE PLAN:
How? We have a faith walk reply.
- Members will generate sponsorships per km they walk,
- OR, we will receive direct deposits from sponsors/donors
What? When the people walk, they will have fellowship with one another and pray together to the church, the city and the country, as well as special request prayer from sponsors (Your prayer requests)
When & Where? 19 October 2019, 05:00-17:00 at 7Dams Conservancy (www.7dams.com), followed by a bring n share meal and worship evening at the church, 18:00-19:30.
