Treating Peoples Like Peoples

Update posted by Dodger! On Dec 28, 2013

Never in a million years did I think we would triple our original target and that is not including the t-shirt sales!

Thank you so so much to everyone who watched the stream, who donated and who bought a shirt. The money raised will be divided evenly between my three chosen charities:

Amnesty International

Center for Victims of Torture

Human Rights First

The livestream is now over, but you can still donate until midnight on the 29th. You are the best burritos in the world. <3~

At about 9:30am in the morning yesterday, I was looking at the local news and noticed that the entire city of paradise was under evacuation. In an immediate state of panic, I call my dad, who said that The Camp Fire was in upper paradise and that Magalia might be evacuated but he would be fine, “no big deal” as he would say. By 12:30pm he was on the road with the dogs, only able to pack some clothes, thinking the evacuation would be lifted a few hours later. Then, like the rest of the paradise community, our worlds were flipped upside down. The whole city is demolished, apparently nothing left but ash. My dads house is gone, along with the rest of the community who called Paradise home. Our worst nightmares have come to life, and I believe it is our job to help these people when we can and are able to. Let’s show this community that we care. Anything helps. ❤️
