P.O. BOX 1841, MASAKA

UGANDA, EAST AFRICA

Date: 11 th/01/2017

Dear Sir/Madam,

RE: KIND REQUEST FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT.

Greetings to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We hope you are quite fine and carrying on the work of our Lord Jesus Christ for the benefit of his people. We too are fine and committed to the support of God’s needy children in the community as the scriptures encourage us to do so.

We hereby submit our application to you kindly seeking for support so that we are able to assist the needy, orphaned and vulnerable children in our community whose number continues to increase beyond our means.

Star major high & vocational training school is a private registered school which was established by Rev. Fr. George Ssemaganda in conjunction with the Christians in the community.

The school was established purposely to offer secondary education at affordable costs.

Later, the management of the school realized that there were many orphaned students who were in need of vocational training in order for them to be able to live by themselves for a better future.

That is why the school management decided to add on a vocational training school to offer free vocational training to the increasing number of orphaned students in the community who were as a result of HIV/AIDS and other natural calamities who could not afford to pay fees for universities and other learning institutions.

The vocational training program shall consist of certificate courses in tailoring, carpentry, computer training, welding and fabrication.

The school also promotes the social welfare, healthcare and development programmes for needy children. The principle objective of the school is to enable

the OVC’s enjoy the fundamental rights, including but not limited to education, health as well as living in a safe and supportive environment to facilitate their proper growth and development.

In implementing all its programmes, Star major high & vocational training school is informed by the convention on the rights of the child and the constitution of the republic of Uganda.

When children lose their parents to HIV/AIDS and other natural calamities, they become very vulnerable having lost their source of livelihood.

Many children get depressed having suffered the trauma of having to nurse their parents till the time of their death.

And during such times many of these children go without any support and guidance from adults since HIV/AIDS has greatly weakened the traditional extended family system, which used to take care for such children.

The school therefore intends to facilitate the OVC’s who cannot afford to access the formal and vocational training education.

The category or group of children whom our school supports include;

  1. Orphaned children (by one or both parents)
  2. Children from low resourced families.
  3. Children infected and / or affected by HIV/AIDS.
  4. Abused or neglected children in need of alternative family care.
  5. Children living on their own (child headed families)
  6. Children in war affected areas or conflict zones.
  7. Street children
  8. Abandoned children
  9. Disabled children.

All these children need support through education, healthcare and development services. It is because of this that the school was set up to give possible support to them.

The school structures for the vocational training program are already in place with electricity fully installed.

Although the school is in place, the number of these OVC’s continues to rise and this over stretched our budgetary requirements.

It is because of this factor that we decided to approach you kindly seeking for support towards the purchase of the required vocational training equipments.

After the establishment of the vocational training project, the school management plans to set up some economic activities which shall help in income generation to maintain the future sustainability of the school projects.

The management is seeking for financial support towards the education of these children so that they are able to attain knowledge and skills for their future self sustenance and development.

The estimated budget for the needed training requirements is 42,930 Euros.

The school has conducted some local fundraisings which have helped in raising Euros 3,000 which is not enough to purchase the vocational training equipments.

We are therefore kindly requesting you for financial assistance of Euros 39,930 or any amount you can help us with to enable our school administration purchase the vocational training equipments.

Your co-operation in this matter shall highly be appreciated.

We will remain patiently awaiting for your kind consideration and response.

May the Almighty God bless you.

Yours Sincerely,

REV. FR. GEORGE SSEMAGANDA

DIRECTOR.
