Totsu’s Endoscope & Biopsy

On Mon 18 Sept, our cat Totsu was diagnosed with stomach cancer. The vet concluded this after an X-ray and ultrasound. We were recommended not to conduct a surgery because the mass is very large - almost the size of the stomach - and there are no guarantees that the operation will be successful.

This news left us devastated and helpless. He is the most "manja" (affectionate) and vocal cat in our feline family. He has 5 other siblings who love him and he's always ready to snuggle with them. Seeing this illness changes him into a reclusive and quiet kitty breaks our heart.

We are doing the best we can to provide the medication he needs for his illness. Our main priority is to ensure Totsu's comfort and that he's not in any pain. However, we cannot find it in ourselves to accept this news without a proper biopsy.

We would like to have an endoscope and biopsy done to really examine the extent of his tumour and whether a surgery is still possible. We know this mass in his stomach is pushing against his kidneys and intestines. It is progressively causing him pain. Hence, we want to conduct this endoscopy and biopsy as soon as we can.

We sought a quotation for an endoscopy and biopsy. We were given a quotation of $2-$2.5K. It is very challenging for the family to come up with the required sum, especially after spending close to SGD1,000 on his medical bills so far.

We would like to seek all the help we can get. We've created an Instagram account for Totsu @mycattotsu and we will share all his medical documents and bills there for transparency.
