Tom’s recovery from a very unexpected medical emergency.

Hello!! I am 54 years old and currently recovering from a bout with flesh eating bacteria (Necrotizing Fasciitis) in my left foot and leg, which resulted in the amputation of all of the toes on that foot and skin graft to cover up two exposed tendons in my leg/foot (in January of 2013), and have not been able to work for nearly six years. I have had a total of 7 surgeries on this foot/leg.

Due to complications, I spent 16 of 18 months in a nursing home and was discharged in July of 2014 with nothing to my name except for my 17 year old Mercury Sable. Since my discharge, I have been living in my car, as well as occasionally on a friends couch.

I am trying to raise enough money to afford a small room, and to fix the brakes in my car. I would appreciate ANY help!!! I very badly want to get my life back to normal with a roof over my head and to become a contributing member of society once more. I jave a college degree and years of experience, but I just need some help. I was recently given the green light to go back to work, but desparately need help at the current time. I have found a room, in a boarding house, and have managed to save enough to put down a deposit. However, paying my rent for the first few weeks ($135/week) will be impossible for me. At this point, my only income is SSI disability. The brakes in my car are also grinding and need to be replaced

ANY help would be appreciated. I have a college degree and years of experience. I just need some help
