To Russia … with love!

"Tyler Carver .... by the decision of the Selection Committee, you are allowed to particpate in the XII Moscow International Ballet Competition!"    Imagine as a ballet dancer receiving this news that you have an opportunity to dance at the Bolshoi, the home of male dancers such as Malakov, Baryshnikov and Nureyev.   My partner Yoshiko and I will be representing Vancouver Canada at this competition in June and are hoping for your help to raise funds for our training, costuming and travelling costs, by June 10th!

Yoshiko and I have danced together for over 4 years, most notably in Goh Ballet's acclaimed Nutcracker - you can see us at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dlvM6Z6SQhs.   We have also been welcomed to charity events and fundraisers as entertainers in order to raise funds for both the BC Cancer Society and the Canadian Cancer Society.  

To dance at the Bolshoi is a Ballet dancers dream come true.  To meet and enjoy the company of dancers from around the world will only bring that rich culture to life for us and, hopefully enrich the quality of the art form here in Canada.   Funding for the Arts is fairly scarce .... funding for Ballet - well, you know ....
