As I will be graduating from Deerfield Academy in 2022, I have been looking for ways to give back to Franklin County during this pandemic. Last summer, I contributed to a modular transitional housing program with the Hong Kong government. This experience inspired me to design a low-cost tiny house on a trailer that I hope to donate to the community. I have already identified a location for the Tiny House and a recipient who needs low cost housing in the county. At this point, I have finalized the design as seen in the drawings and would like to raise enough funds to purchase the trailer and necessary building materials. Construction is set to begin in June. I hope this Tiny House can be replicated as a low cost housing model and the success can convince states and counties to amend zoning laws to allow more tiny houses to be built. Thank you for making the Tiny House come true for the people who are caught in housing crisis and unable to afford a home.
Excess funding will be contributed towards building a second Tiny House for the non-profit organizaion.
