Many of you...
... were part of a marvelous evening at 200 Venice, on Friday 5 April, where you saw first-hand Thomas the dancer, Thomas the young person in the making. And for this a huge thank you to Francesca Balladon and Chrisitine Tozer - Frankie, whose idea it was to turn her birthday celebration into a Thomas-in-Boston fund raiser AND Chris, who was there every step of the way, literally, physically, materially. These two wonderful women planned, organised and poured their energy and skills into treating us all to a fabulous feast. And to James of 200 Venice... who once again threw open his doors and added materially to that gesture by contributing to the liquid refreshments...
Onliners and Offliners both, have moved Thomas over 60% closer to the Boston Ballet Summer Intensive.
As he said, on Friday night...
One day, when I dance on the international stage, you will know that you helped me get there. Thank you.
To family, friends and his foes (no doubt), Thomas is known as a dancer, is defined by this passion which has driven him as long as he can remember… a passion which has evolved and grown with him… from the early days of hiphop as a 5 year old, to the discovery of contemporary dance and now ballet.
Dance is uppermost in his mind, his life …
Shopping at Woolies
A week in the Berg
Messing around in the Studio... yes, on pointes
and of course during the studio shows, where the he gets to rock the costumes…
Elegant in a skirt
Goofy as the brainless one in the Wizard of Oz
Even not wearing very much at all, it would seem
And now he has been accepted into the Boston Ballet Summer Dance Programme, from 23 June to 27 July 2019.
That’s HUGE. Everything about it is HUGE. Including the cost… unfortunately…
And that is why Thomas and I are appealing to you to help us make this talented, hard-working and passionate boy’s dream come true.
The Summer Dance Programme is 5 weeks of intensive training, and participants stay in residence for the entire period, thereby enhancing the experience immeasurably.
The cost for his airfare, tuition, full board and lodging for the 5 weeks is just on $7 000 – and that is the amount we are hoping to raise... with your help...
It takes a village to raise a child, they say... Please support Thomas on his journey.
