Help save squatter camp kittens

This is Cindy. Cindy was saved from an informal settlement off main road in Fourways, Johannesburg. She is one of dozens of kittens who are in desperate need of our help. They are part of a feral cat community living in squalor conditions, feeding on rubbish and often suffering from eye and skin infections.

The residents of the informal settlement also live in dreadful circumstances; no infrastructure, no sanitation, no toilets nor running water. Unfortunately, due to their circumstances, some residents see the kittens as an opportunity for income and sell them at the road side or for dog fights. Horrific. Many of the saved kittens have serious injuries because of this.
We are a small group of individuals who want to make a difference. We are not an organisation, but rather choose to work with and behind organisations like CLAW and Harties Feral Cat Rescue. We help with sterilisation of adults and kittens as well as taming, fostering and homing kittens that are rescued. We also set up and manage feeding stations. All of this is funded from our own pockets and done in our free time.
We also hope to improve the living conditions of the residents by providing rubbish skips and portable loos whilst educating them on animal welfare. We have the support from a few people in the informal settlement who assist to identify and trap the cats.
Our goal is to establish healthy stable feral colonies who can live peacefully with the local community.

You can give back to the most vulnerable and help us by:

1. 'Adopting' a kitten. This means you will provide funding of R50-100 per month to cover the cost of feeding a cat.

2. Supporting a spayathon. It costs R450 to sterilise a cat.

3. Portable loos or skips.
