On March 2 , Matt Morland narrowly cheated a fatal blow while driving on Front street in North Bay.An individual, from what we understand, attempting to evade police, sped through a stop sign and crashed into Matts car at a speed in what is believed to be in excess of 70 km /hr . Matt was stuck in the car and Police/Fire had to mechanically cut the car to remove him from the wreckage.

Matt was rushed to The North Bay hospital and later transferred to Sudbury and is scheduled for several hip surgeries in Sudbury. He is doing well and in good spirits, but will be out of commission for quite a while and has a long road to recovery ahead.

As you may or may not know Matt is an avid golfer and competes annually. This injury will not only severely impede his ability to work but also to complete and supplement their family income. Matt is also a Type I diabetic which may hinder or prolong his recovery. A year ago Matt and Sandi's daughter, Willow, was also diagnosed with Type I diabetes. The family relies on Matt for the added income to not only provide for regular family expenses but also medical related expenses that are not covered.

I am reaching out for your help with family expenses until Matt is back up and fully able to go back to work - which may be not for some time.

If you can donate to help the family with monthly bills, medical expenses, travel expenses and other familial obligations it would be greatly appreciated!

The Morlands are blessed to have so much support in their community!

Friends and family near and far have reached out in support and stepped up --For that they are endlessly grateful, but please... Sandi and Matt are quite overwhelmed right now and we are trying to give them all the privacy possible.
