The real street racing …documentary

Hi, My name is Sean  In 2000, I was involved in street racing accident. My car topped speeds at over 150mph. The car went out of  control, rolled and crashed and I was ejected through the windshield. I  received only stitches, I was one of the lucky ones.   In the U.S. F.B.I. statistics state that every year 135  people die in street racing/drag racing accidents. This statistic is  growing at an alarming rate. This number does not even take into account the by standers or people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.    These days Hollywood films and video games glamorize "the need for speed". The good guys beat the bad guys. They walk away  with scratches. Our favorite actors are heroes. In the films, Breaking  the law is cheered on, People's are barely affected. The focus is  on the rush the driver gets. All the highs none of the lows.  As a survivor of a racing accident, I would like to  direct a documentary based on the real racing world. I would follow  racers, conduct interviews, film the races and show what it takes to  prepare a vehicle, a driver and delve into the mind of a racer and why  they do what they do.  With 51 out of 1000 racers injured each year, this is a topic that is buzzing around and needs to be brought to light.  Estimate is  cost of 250,000 that will provide me with racers, a camera crew, equipment and travel.  My hope is that this film will be submitted to The  Sundance Film Festival and will bring awareness to kids who believe what Hollywood shows us forgetting there are stuntmen and camera tricks.
