The Last Stretch

I confessed to my dad that I don't want to go to medical school, but to instead attend a plant biology graduate school program. Despite my best efforts to explain why I have chosen this path and to show my passion for researching plants, my dad would not listen to me. Instead, he began belittling the field of study that I want to research on and accused me for being narrow minded. When I tried to explain to him the benefits of going to grad school over med school, he only got angrier. He, then, threatened me that if I don't start applying to medical schools soon, he will not pay for next semester's tuition (~$24,000) and cut ties with me forever. My mom can't do anything because my dad threatened to divorce her if she try to help me out. I am a senior and I only need to take one more semester of college in order to get my degree. If I can't pay off for next semester, I won't be able to finish my degree and all my efforts of applying to grad school will be for naught.
