18 (ish) of us from Kingston Grammar School are attempting to take on the mighty Mongol Rally to help raise money for charity. A journey from London, England to Ulaanbataar, Mongolia, through cities, plains, deserts, forests and mountains, a journey of over 6000 miles! The only rules are that the cars must have an engine of under 1L and each car team must raise a minumum of £1000 for charity. The trip should take just under a month, starting in late June 2015 and as well as being the greatest experience of our lives, it will raise thousands of pounds for Cool Earth (the Mongol Rally official charity) and The Royal Marsden (in honour of Oli Davis).

Unfortunately the trip isn't free as we have to pay for food, cars, petrol, visas, insurance, the entrance fee, the flights back, equipment and lots more. And if we can't go then we can't raise the money, therefore we need your help! We estimate that we need a minimum of £35k for the trip to be possible but expect it to cost more or less. And the more we raise, the more we can give to charity!

Other things:

The team: Harry Style, Hal Boulter, Matt Newton, Charlie Whitfield, Chris Robbs, Rachel Finlay, Georgia Jones, Serena Sekhon, Ben Cave, Cat Butler, Mark Berrow, Rustum Byramji, Cameron Leckie, Sam Underwood, Peter le Tissier, Josie Darwin, Meriel Phillips and Tim Kalashnikov

The route: We don't have a perfectly set route as we'll decide where we visit while we're there based on local knowledge and timings. Places to visit include the Rather Irregular Places (RIPs) which are places decided by the organisers as being interesting or particularly difficult to get to. However our general route includes passing through: UK, France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, (Estonia),  Russia, Kazakhstan, Russia (again) and Mongolia. That's at least 12 countries!

Sponsorships: The best way to help us raise money is through sponsorships. Not only does it help us a lot but it also provides you with the greatest advertising billboard you can imagine. If you help sponsor us, whether through funding or equipment that we can use, we will then bring your name across 1/3 of the earth saying how great you are for helping us or how wonderful your product is. Not only that but if you donate over £100 (money or kit), then we'll put your logo on our website, social media sites, blogs and anything else we can think of. Donating over £400 will get a sticker on one of the cars. Your logo will have the stunned attention of every person we come into contact with before, during and after our 6,000+ mile journey across the globe. It's a win-win situation.
